The design phase is broken down into User Experience (UX) Design first, and then User Interface (UI) Design second.

In UX Design, we start by auditing the products offerings and create an Information Architecture (IA) document to map out what goes where and how sections and features correlate to each other. 

Secondly, we define User Journeys based on the personas of your target demographic. i.e: If you're aiming to sell sports goods online, we define the various types of users, male and female, young and old, and what they would be shopping around for then map how they're going to find what they came to your site/app for. 

We then whip together some dirty wireframes of key features and offerings of your product. Similar to sketches on cocktail napkins of what is going to go where, we start to get a visual of how your product may look. We base our inspiration on best practices and design trends to ensure what we suggest is already tried and tested.

With a few rounds of iterations and improvements, we build a functional prototype to ensure that our assumptions are spot on. We test it out on a small control group of users and aim to confirm our findings.

Once the functionality is confirmed, we add the funky design layer on top, commonly referred to as User Interface (UI) Design. Here comes the implementation of the brand guidelines, corporate identity, fonts, images, colors, etc. Everything to turn bland wireframes into vibrant screens that entice users to explore and use the product as intended.
